Cub Scouts Starts on the 3rd!!!
We’d like to invite you to our first Pack meeting on Wednesday, September 3rd at 6:30 pm at Worthington Estates. We plan to meet in front of the school because the weather will be nice.
For the kids, we’re going to talk about Scouting basics and play some games.
For parents, we’ll talk about what Cub Scouts is about, what the year looks like, and upcoming events.
I’ll mention our annual fundraiser, it feels like it starts earlier and earlier every year. It kicks off quickly and is really pretty fun; we’ll be out in the Estates neighborhood selling popcorn this Saturday September 6th. Popcorn sales help support the Pack overall, and can help cover a portion of the fees for individual scouts.
We will have popcorn to taste!
The next big event is the fall camp out on September 20th, only 20 minutes away, at Camp Lazarus in Delaware.
We’ll provide plenty of information about those two events.
    Hope to see you Wednesday!

Hello Akelas (that’s Scout for parents):
Let’s kick off the popcorn fundraising season with a blitz of the Worthington Estates neighborhood on Saturday, Sept. 6!
We will be going out in three groups. There is no sign-up; just choose a time that works for you and your scout, show up at the meeting point on time, and come sell with us. We will show you how!
Scouts should wear their Class A dress uniform if you have one, or Class B T-shirt (or any T-shirt) if you don’t. Bring a wagon if you have one.
10 am – 12 pm: Meet at 6555 Masefield St. Casey Parsons (614-306-8858) will lead. Scouts will cover Masefield, Poe, Stevenson and Thackeray.
12 pm – 2 pm: Meet at the north parking lot of Worthington Estates School. John Moorehead (614-327-2215) will lead. Scouts will cover Rieber and Greenglade.
2 pm – 4 pm: Meet at the south parking lot of Worthington Estates School. Mitch Garner (614-406-1231) will lead. Scouts will cover Hennessey, Stenten and Evening St.
All scouts who help sell will receive a share of all Sept. 6 sales. If a scout sells on more than one shift, they will receive more than one share. We will also have order forms for scouts to sell on their own after the Blitz. See the FAQs document for full details.

    Overlook Trail
Meet at the interior parking lot a bit early so we can hit the trail at 6:30 sharp.  We’ll only have an hour of daylight left.
Bring flashlights and/or headlamps. This is a gravel path with some hills and is very well marked.  Boots are not necessary and it will not be muddy or wet.
For older or ambitious Scouts: We’ll hike the 2.4 mile (total) Overlook Trail. Expected duration 1.5 hours total.
For younger Scouts: This can be a as far as you want hike before heading back. Expected duration 1 hour total.
Depending on numbers, we’ll probably split the Pack up into Dens and stagger-start so we don’t clog the trail.
    Please RSVP yes or no.
